I am an ilustrator

I do watercolor paintings, illustrate books and board games, make graphic designs, but also paint on walls or make stained glass windows… Children’s book illustrations are a large part of my work.

I travel a lot around the world and when possible I walk in the mountains where I draw inspiration and strength. One of the big projects where I painted directly in the wilderness was Patagonia or perhaps the JMT crossing in California.

Frequent stays in nature and demanding mountain crossings are reflected in my work, and motifs of mountains, wild animals and freedom in general appear.

I organized several exhibitions in the Czech Republic and Oregon focused mainly on mountains, but also on children’s book illustrations or dream illustrations with a touch of surrealism.

about Mountaink

MOUNTAINK = mountain & ink

In addition to a warm sleeping bag and a map I packed watercolor papers, brushes and paints in my backpack for the trip to the end of the world. And that is how it started.

I combined two great passions and started painting right in the mountains.

I feel most alive when I’m in the mountains. I love waking up in the morning in a tent with a view of the mountain peaks. I like trickle of the water ford rinking the best, and the whole lake is better than a bath. The coldness of glaciers, the freshness of trees, rough rocks, the starry sky, simplicity and authenticity. Fatigue and discomfort are only a small price to pay for all that beauty.

Thanks to pictures and illustrations, I can tell about the beauty of the mountains, or remind people of their journeys and dreams. We live in the safety of cities, but this way a small reminder of forest, mountains and wilderness can be brought home.

MOUNTAINS AND ART BELONG TOGETHER.
Both have the tension of the preparation, the pain of the journey, the persistence of the will, the improvisation of the unexpected, the power of the last steps and the joy of the world, which is spread before man as the greatest gift.

MOUNTAINS AND ART BELONG TOGETHER.
They are an inspiration and a space for imagination.

MOUNTAINS AND ART BELONG TOGETHER AND I BELONG AMONG THEM.
